Measures taken to curb food inflation and alleviate problems of common man due to COVID-19

The Minister expressed that the Government facilitated import limitations to improve homegrown accessibility of Tur, Urad and Moong and have likewise gone into MoUs with Myanmar, Malawi, Mozambique for beats import. Fundamental import obligation and Agriculture Infrastructure and Development Cess on Masur have been brought down to zero and 10% separately. 

The Minister expressed that means were taken to mellow the costs of consumable oils and the obligation on Crude Palm Oil (CPO) has been chopped, cutting down the compelling duty rate on CPO to 30.25% from the prior 35.75%. Further, the obligation on Refined palm oil/Palmolein has been decreased to 37.5% from 45%, the Minister added.
